Kayla Markle, our System Support Assistant, was named our newest COE Warrior! Kara Brooks passed it off to Kayla stating that she is a true team player, is always helpful, and is quick to respond to any email or question. We couldn’t be prouder of Kayla for receiving this much-deserved honor. Continue reading to see what this honor means to her.

What does winning the warrior helmet mean to you?

It’s already a great honor to be recognized for the work you do, but I believe it’s an even greater honor when that recognition comes from a colleague.

What did you or what do you look for when it comes to choosing the next recipient?

I chose someone that I feel doesn’t get “seen” very often, but still embodies our core values even when nobody is watching.

How has COE helped you to get where you are?

I have always been a follower and kind of a wallflower my whole life, and I firmly believe COE and my work family have helped me come out of my shell. I am so much less inclined to back down when presented with a challenge than I was before starting here. I’m truly grateful to work for a place that inspires me personally.

What goals do you want to achieve and how can COE help get you there?

I want to continue to learn more skills that will help me do my job better. I feel COE is a great place for that because I am presented with so many opportunities for operational growth, and surrounded by so many great coworkers that are looking to succeed as well.

What is your favorite part of our employee engagement programs at COE and why?

I love that COE makes us feel like a huge family through the engagement programs. It’s not like that at a lot of other places, and I am grateful to work for a company that really cares about its employees.

What are you most excited for when it comes to our Penguin partnership?

What’s not to love about the Penguins?? Jokes aside, I think it’s incredibly cool that we are the first company to partner with the Penguins for something like this. They are a world class organization, and I really feel it says a lot about COE that they chose to partner with us.

What COE value do you think you’re the strongest in and why?

I think I’m strongest in teamwork. I am always ready and willing to jump in the deep end to help the team, no matter how big or small the task is.
